About the Event
The 2026 AFCC-LA Conference brings together Louisiana attorneys, members of the judiciary, and mental health professionals who work in family law for a full day of interdisciplinary education and collaboration. Grounded in AFCC’s mission, this conference emphasizes learning across disciplines to better address the complex legal, financial, and psychological issues families face in the court system.
Through practical and timely sessions, attendees will explore best interest factors in custody cases, financial considerations in family law, emerging technology and evidence in court, substance use monitoring, and current judicial perspectives on evolving legal issues. The program also highlights trauma-informed approaches, intimate partner violence, reunification therapy, parent coordination, and custody evaluations.
By fostering meaningful dialogue among professionals, the conference aims to strengthen practice, improve decision-making, and ultimately enhance outcomes for children and families navigating family conflict.
