AN INTRODUCTION TO UNDERSTANDING REUNIFICATION THERAPY (1.5 hours)
When families have strained and fractured relationship structures causing children to be estranged from their parents, specific considerations and therapy are involved in helping repair these relationships. This presentation involves a research-based introduction to reunification therapy and discussing some of the approaches involved in reunification. The presentation includes defining the therapist’s role and describing cooperation with legal professionals and the court. The presentation discusses important considerations to promote child best interest and positive parenting relationships in a effort for participants to understand and more effectively work with families with estranged children.
